2 self-employments 2 exemptions from class 2 NI?

Postby debbiel on Sun Jan 08, 2006 12:39 pm

I have been self-employed as a trainer for 2 years and have earned BELOW the exemption rate for NI class 2 contributions. (I DO pay NI through an employed job that I do part-time). However, I have started a new type of self employed work as a programmer. Do I have an exemption allowance (or potential) for each type of self-employment?

Also, do I fill in two tax returns or two parts on one?

Many thanks.

Your combined earnings from self-employment are taken into consideration for the Class 2 exemption. If together they exceed the threshold then you will have to pay nic.

You complete one tax return but two sets of supplementary pages, one for each self-employment.
