Bob went to Australia 3 years ago and rents out his old uk house. Each year we put the rent and expenses in his tax return and he gets his Personal allowance etc against this. This year he has some bank interest from nat west and some dividends from some shares he bought in a uk plc...do I put these in too? I know I dont put his Australian salary in.

yes - all UK source income should be disclosed and is taxable, but the tax liability is usually restricted to tax deducted at source.
