Bed Sits

Dear All

I have a new client who rents out ''bed sits'' He has quite a few. He makes his accounts up to 31 July each year and historically has stuck them in the self employed pages of his tax return ( well the old accountant did)

Seems to me this is rental income? Also can you declare rental income to 31 July as all the other landlords i have seen in the last 25 years have all declared it to 5th April.

where do I go from here?

Happy new year by the way

Year to 5 April.

It's rental income. Out of interest, has he claimed any historic losses against other income?
