Does anyone know if the fees for having a retrospective CA survey carried out are tax deductible?

Sound capital in nature and wouldn't qualify for capital allowances.

Should be, as it's a cost of preparing the tax return, never had a problem with claiming it as an expense before.

Given that it is a self-assessed tax, what level of disclosure was provided and/or discusions with HMRC?
