Peter

Can I just check one thing please. My wife moved out of her house and into mine when we married in 2005 - surely my house (house 1) becomes her PPR at this point? If so, assuming I added her to the deeds asap, her PPR relief on the (say) 2016 gain on disposal of house 1 is the period of PPR (c 2 years) divided by the total ownership of house 1 (c 15 years)?

Thanks

NO I'm afraid not as she was not an ownerat the mine and you moved out when you were the sole owner. Read IR283 on the HMRC.gov.uk web site. Just enter IR283 in the search window. Rgeards Peter
