I suggest Maggie May that you get a chartered surveyor/valuer to do the negotiations with the DV on your behalf.

Incidentally, if you sell a deceased's property for more than the value as agreed with the DV/HMRC, either the Estate or the benficiaries (if the property was transferred to them prior to sale) could find themselves liable to CGT depending on the amount of gain and reliefs available

Hi Hedgie,
Did you get a satisfactory end with IH District Valuer/ How long did it take?

We are just at the beginning of our story as our District Valuer is yet to give us his value do you know how long this takes?
