Consulting - Hong Kong company - UK Resident & Non-UK client

Postby Russ2louze » Tue Nov 22, 2016 7:01 pm

Hi there,
Is it legally possible for a UK resident to use a Hong Kong-based company to provide an international consulting service to a company outside of the UK? Say a UK resident works from home, provides consulting to a Barbados company and invoice is paid to a Hong Kong company. If not legally possible, is there a set-up that could make it legal?
Best.

Hi

Yes it is possible from a legal point of view but perhaps not tax efficient

If you are going to do it right then you should ensure the management of the company happens from Hong Kong not UK that is always a tricky party( as well as expensive). Otherwise if it was easy then everyone would just set up a company in a some sunny tax haven.

Kind Regards
