Distributions and the tax year

Postby sigmund » Sun Apr 03, 2016 7:41 pm

If a fund manager pays a distribution on 31 March 2016 but my broker does not credit it to my account until after 5 April and I then have to wait a further three days before I can obtain the money in my bank account (owing to the BACS system), does the distribution fall within the 2015-16 tax year or the 2016-17 tax year?

So you have received money from the broker in your bank account without any documentation? Unbelievable!

I do not have a physical voucher. I can see from my on line account when the broker credited the distribution to my account which was just after 5 April. The fund distribution date, however, was 31 March. What I am asking is does the distribution fall within the last tax year or the new tax year?
