I'm divorcing my wife. She's keeping the house (value about £300K; mortgage £145K; mostly her equity originally).
I'm transferring interest to her sole name in exchange for £35K. The exchange will be in the consent order, but will
be effected sooner as I'm buying another home and need the deposit.
My understanding is that this transaction is exempt from SDLT because it is part of a divorce settlement. Is this true?
