My girlfriend is currently finalising her divorce settlement which includes the house (Value £250000) we are living in and the associated mortgage (£99500), which I will then be paying off and become the co-owner in a joint tenancy. At the moment her solicitor is being very vague on what may be exempt from Stamp Duty and what will be chargeable and I would be very grateful for any indication of what Stamp Duty will be payable.
