Postby byker123456 on Tue May 01, 2007 8:09 am

Hi Guys,

I have am in the process of setting up an Ebay company. I will be importing digital goods from China and reselling them on Ebay. I know i have to pay import VAT on the goods and any VAT due on the final price of the goods after they have been sold to the customer. My question is: Do i have to pay VAT on the postage charge that i ask the buyers to pay?
Any info would be great...!

Kind Regards
Matt

In simple yes!!!!!!!

However the word posage may be incorrect/CONFUSING. You will charge VAT on delivery, what ever word you use, you will have to Charge VAT.

Item sold for £100
Delivery/postage £10
Total Price is £110 + VAT (19.25) = £129.25

I trust you are VAT registered in order to charge VAT to your customers.

Just another point when you buy postage stamps, there is NO VAT.
