Hello Sara,
there is no exact regulation by law in Germany. The so called "Fahrkostenzuschlag" or "Kilometergeld" is normally between 0,12 and 0,25 Euros, or even more. This all depends on the deal you made with the other party, which should be done before. Nevertheless some just pay what you want ;-). This is only for the usage of a private car for business purposes.

Hi, Maybe someone can clear this up for me; I have a query with regards to business expenses in Germany. I am a contractor and I have a contract with a company in Germay. I am registered in a limited company and I am querying expenses. If I was to drive from Berlin to Hamburg, for example, and the person I that I am working for pays me a sum of money to cover the mileage and fuel costs, would this money that I recieved be treated as salary and then is this money taxable under German regulations?
Any help would be much appreciated.
