I have claimed CGT deferral relief on shares purchased in my personal company. The shareholding in that company is greater than 50%. I am now intending to make a loan to the company by way of raising finance via an investment property (owned personally). Can I obtain income tax relief on the loan interest on the grounds that I am lending money to a close, trading company or are there restrictions as I have claimed CGT deferral relief in the past on the investment of shares in the company?
