Forming a Company to Invest in Shares

Postby tma on Thu Jan 12, 2006 9:28 pm

I am interested in forming a company for the sole purpose of investing in the stock market and trading share options. I have read that this may be treated as a "Close Investment Company". I am a little confused as to the definition. Can anyone please clear this up? Thanks.

Basically it is a company controlled by a very small group of people which does not carry on a trade or which does not invest in let property.

The drawback of being such a company is that it pays corporation tax at 30% on all its profits so this will make your scheme expensive to operate.
