Hi,
After some advice. A friend of mine who lives in South Africa wants to buy me and my husband a house here in the UK. Would we have to pay capital gains tax if she did this? Or if she gifted us the money would we have to pay any kind of tax on that?

No UK taxes involved in the gift.
If it's not your PPR, you'll pay CGT on the whole of the sale proceeds.
If it's not your PPR, you'll pay CGT on the whole of the sale proceeds.
With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA
