gifted house

Postby timtom » Wed Mar 22, 2017 1:57 pm

Hi, my mum gifted her house worth circa £300000 10 years ago,mum has lived there for 58years, to my sister. There are 4 children in total and the house will be sold when mum dies.
Proceeds will be split 4 ways, between the 4 children. Would it be better for my sister to gift the property to the 3 other siblings in equal parts, ie a 1/4 each.
Mum has no other assets. This is solely to avoid paying more tax than needed. Or is there another course of action that should be taken

Many thanks
