Gold bullion in SSAS pension - evidence for HMRC

Postby philly » Mon Oct 26, 2015 10:12 pm

If my SSAS invests in gold bullion, can it be stored in a vault other than the seller's? For instance, if trustees of the SSAS I am a member of decide to rent a safety deposit box, can it be stored there?
What evidence can HMRC require with this regard? I can provide them with proof of purchase but how to evidence what items and where are stored at a specified time?
