Can anybody help me. I asked the NI contributions office for a pension forcast. They gave me the amount and said I had 40years qualifying payments, I have worked all my life since leaving school at 16 and have never been unemployed. I asked them to produce a list of all years from 1966 and this they done. but three years were missing. This was when I owned a LTD Company from 1977 to 1980. I employed one other person and naturally signed up for PAYE. When I replied to them I gave them the Company registration number so they could see that I had indeed worked those years. my reply was that it would not give them any answers to help me. so they will not do anymore searching unless I could supply them with a P60 for those years. I thought you only needed to keep accounts for 7 years obviously you need to keep them for life. There attitude was well you have done your 30 years and that is all you need. This may be true but if they lost 3 years I will obviosly get a lower second pension too.
Regards Trant.
