I live with my parents - can I claim board back on taxes?

Silly question but I thought I'd ask.

I work from home and wondered if I can claim the board I pay my parents back on my tax.

However my board includes food so do I deduct that and claim, that will be quite difficult to work out as the amount I pay is a set monthy amount.

If you're self employed you could claim a proportion of the cost if you use your premises for business. (book keeping/stock storage etc)

I'd keep it fairly low unless you can justify it.
With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA

Precisely what self employed work do you do? Where do you do it?
The basic principle here is that you cannot deduct private costs - everyone (well, almost everyone) needs somewhere to live.

thanks, guess I'll leave it off, seems like it would be a grey area.
