my wife has terminal cancer what would be the tax to pay as she has property she rents out as a business as the mortgages are in her name plus her own bank accounts what would be the best option to do

If everything passes to you as her husband on her death, whether absolutely or in trust, there would be no inheritance tax to pay (assumuing you are both domiciled in England and Wales).
