late filing - penalty for 08-09 tax year?

Postby excalibur12 on Wed Mar 10, 2010 9:08 am

Hello

Is there a waiver of some kind that is applying on the usual £100 penalty for filing your tax return, for the tax year 08-09, does anybody know, please?

I filed my return very slightly late unfortunately - due to doing the maths for my form taking a bit longer than expected. There is no penalty showing on my account online (and none received in the post yet). Occasionally for one reason or another the penalty has been waived so I'm wondering if this is the reason (or perhaps they haven't got round to applying it yet but it's now 10 March...some delay might be expected sure but perhaps this is not the reason now it is up to 10 March).

Many thanks in advance if anyone knows!

Also...are you allowed to use a business address ie office address to have your tax statements and suchlike sent to please?

Thank you.

The £100 is reduced to match your actual tax liability for the 08/09 tax year if its less than £100. If its more then the £100 penalty will remain.

You can use a business address for the correspondents it doesn't have to be the home address
