Hi,
My mortgage advisor has stated that if I purchase buy to let properties through a limited company I will need to pay stamp duty

however my accountant says I do not

I thought the stamp duty exemption was only for ltd companies with more than 15 properties

who is right

many thanks for looking at this question

Hi

Your mortgage adviser is correct you have to pay the additional 3% in SDLT under the limited company too.

I recall the chancellor had backtracked on 15 propertiesor more exempt from SDLT

Kind Regards
