mobile phone

Postby bob1 on Sun Aug 07, 2011 10:08 pm

I currently have a phone from work but also manage my properties on it. I would like to purchase a phone specifically for my property management as its becoming an issue with using one for both purposes. If i purchase a mobile phone can i claim all the expenses (rental and calls) associated with it ?

What property management ??. Is this 1, 10, 20 properties or what. If the phone was wholly and Exclusively for the rental business then it may be allowable. You nned to provide much more information. Regards Peter

6 properties in total that i manage. I would use the phone potentially for private as well. Could i claim the rental and phone calls (excluding private calls) ?

It would not be wholly and exclusive so either some sort of apportionment or rental and records of the management calls. I suspect you will have far bigger personal calls and the property ones. Regards Peter
