Must I pay VAT ??

Postby adamjoyce » Fri Jun 23, 2017 10:25 pm

hi guys,

I am looking to set up someones online business and will then get on going payment dependent on the sales generated from my work. My colleague already pays VAT on all his sales but i was wondering what my situation would be.

I was looking to continue as a sole trader as the benefit to being a company is limited. However, would I need to pay VAT or not ? My turnover would be more than 100k.

If I do have to pay VAT how can i minimise this and what would be the best bet for me ?

Thanks

1. If your business takes off, for whether you need to register check here:
www.gov.uk/vat-registration/when-to-register
2. If you are not already registered with HMRC for self-assessment as self-employed, you may have to do that.
