NDR - tax relief

NDR - tax relief

Postby jshomesltd on Tue Jul 19, 2011 11:10 am

I have been advised by the valuation office that the rateable value of my furnished holiday let is £2125 and the NDR is worked out by applying 42.8 pence in the pound ie £909.50. I'm I entitled to small business 100% tax relief on this amount or has that now been abolished?

Thanks in advance.

For the benefit of those who may be in a similiar situation to myself, the council have advised that because the rateable value of my holiday cottage is below the threshold figure, whatever the amount of the business rate, I will receive 100% relief ie effectively exempt from paying the business rate. This relief, however, due to changes introduced by the coalition government, will cease in October 2012. For those of you who may be interested, my holiday cottage can be viewed on www.independentcottages.co.uk (watkin cottage)!
