Non EU citizen bringing money to UK

Non EU citizen bringing money to UK

Postby sonoma on Wed Sep 23, 2009 4:30 pm

I am a UK citizen, my wife is a non Eu citizen, If My wife were to bring £200k (from the sale of a business)to the UK in order to buy a house here would she have to pay tax on this money or would the entire sum belong to her? If tax would have to be paid how can she avoid paying tax to the UK Goverment? Tax's on the sale will have been paid in her own country.
Thank you
