Hi, If i employ for dad for 10 hours a week will i have to pay any national insurance on his wages, he is over 70?

Also, is there a simple way to deal with the tax on his wages, to reduce the paperwork?

Thanks.

Employees national insurance will not apply due to your fathers age however you as the employer still get charged employers national insurance although this only results in a liability if payments are over £110 per week.

You could engage an accountant or payroll company to do the work for you :)
Other than that probably not.

Due to the fact that your father will likely have pension income you will have to start by keeping a P11 card, deducting BR tax and you will need to set up a paye scheme and submit all the normal year end forms. The revenue do however provide cd roms and toolkits to help you along the way.
