Self Assesment

Postby AldoAldo88 » Thu Jan 07, 2016 12:37 am

Hey guys,

Please ignore my ignorance,

A few years ago, I was self employed (Contracted) and this ended in May 2014. As I was only self employed for four/five weeks of the 2013/2014 tax year, before going back to being employed... Do I still need to complete my self Assesment tax form?

I have not received any information stating that I do, I was just querying really.

Thank you in advance.

Kieran

Did you notify HMRC that you were self-employed?

Yes, I was self employed for the before so submitted a tax return, this rolled over into the first 4/5 weeks on the tax year of 2014/2015.

Did you receive notice from HMRC that a tax return was required for 2014-15? If so, you should complete one.

If you did not receive notice, you had a responsibility to tell HMRC that you were liable to tax on your earnings for 2014-15.
