vat on mini cab

Postby voas06 » Tue Dec 20, 2016 2:14 pm

I am preparing the vat return for a company and need to know if the charge for mini cab travel include vat. I understand if you have a corporate account with the mini cab company or Kabees there is vat, and if it is one off payment by card or cash, no vat is included, is this correct

With any business when unsure its best to ask for a vat invoice and take it from there (correct spelling?), you will soon find out if vat has been charged.

Note first up you need to know who you contacted to provide the service, if it was a self employed taxi driver you would need to ask that question from them. The driver could also in theory be an employee so they may refer you back to the cab company, although if its after the event you will probably have to ring the cab company to start the Spanish inquisition.
