SELLING HOUSE IN TURKEY

Postby ABC1234 » Fri Jan 13, 2017 3:46 pm

Hi all. Client's partner (Y) is selling her property in Turkey. Under Turkish CGT there isn't any tax as she has had the property for over 5 years. Y wants to bring the money to the UK. Therefore is there any UK CGT to pay? Client thinks it is covered under Y's Principle Private Residence as she doesn't own a property in the UK. Any thoughts truly welcome

If it was her sole PPR then it's exempt, wherever it is.
With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA
