Repaying tax bill over 2 years - interest?

Postby david_tax » Sat May 06, 2017 2:39 pm

Hi,
I have had an income tax bill for £500 that I have told HMRC to deduct from my salary over 2 years rather than paying off in one go.
I thought I would ask on here as I have not been able to get through by phone - am I now paying interest on the amount owed? I was not instructed that I would be when discussing this with them.

If it's being collected via a coding adjustment you will not pay interest.
