Is the vehicle leased or purchased?

Leased: If these is any business use then 50% of the VAT on the finance charge is claimable.

Purchased: VAT can only be reclaimed if it can be proven that the car is used wholly for business use and IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR PRIVATE USE. Generally this last requirement is only met if the vehicle is adapted making it unsuitable for normal use or if it is insured for business use only. There must be something that stops it being used for any type of private use.
