I've just started up a business which is currently not VAT registered. It sounds like a daft question, but what is the correct terminology to use on my fee schedules and invoices to state that I am not VAT registered and that the fees quoted are not liable to VAT?

Jo,

There is no correct terminology. You simply don't show VAT as you are not charging it.

If you feel you need to explain to your customers that you are not charging VAT then you should simply state it however you wish.
