Power of Attorney

My wife has been given POA by her Mum but no actual evidence i.e. a document suitable stamped/embossed by the solicitor. Is this normal or does it really rely on the bank or whom ever ringing the Solicitor for verification. Thanks in advance Frank.

You'll need the POA document itself to present to each organisation, as required.

If the existing document isn't easily available, then just download the blank Enduring POA document from http://www.guardianship.gov.uk/theservice/enduringpower.htm. This is the prescribed EPOA form from the Public Guardianship Office and is quite straightforward to complete.
