Hi,
My father came to this country from Italy in 1960 and immediately found work and has always paid his NIC's since. He is now 73 and still working full time as an ice-cream man. Whilst speaking to him today he informed me that the HMRC never registered his contributions from 1960 - 1972 because they assumed he was returning to Italy. He said he has spoken to them and they say they can do nothing about this. He now has to work to subsidise his pension as he does not have full contributions.
I would like to know if anyone can inform me if he has any recourse over getting these lost contributions found and back-dated?
