I intend to take a job in London with knowledge that the company will relocate to the North (near to my main residence) in 9 months time. Given that I do not intend to take a permanent residence in London, but will rent or stay in hotels, is there a tax efficient means of my employer covering my temporary accomodation and subsistence costs in London. Note, my employer has only a single site in London currently so my initial employment contract will stipulate London as my main place of work, the exact new secondary location has yet to be finalised. It strikes me that reloation exemptions may not be applicable as I have no intention of 'relocating' to London, equally normal T&E allowances may not be applicable as I will ostensibly be working at the London office and living within commutable distance of it ?
All advice gratefully received.
