Rent a room and total letting plus french tax advise

Rent a room and total letting plus french tax advise

Postby Jenny Foreigner on Tue Aug 24, 2010 8:19 pm

This is a three part question.

One:
I rented out a room from April 2009 to Sept 2009. ( I normally fill out the form for this)
Then I have rented out my flat completely from Sept.

(Added to this complication is that I now work for a school in France and pay french social charges but I return home every holiday stayng with parents.)

Q: How Best to fill out the tax forms. Do i do both?

Two:
I also have a french tax question ( i dont want to over post on different forums).

I dont know where i stand with French tax.
I began work inSept 2009. I have been told that one doesnt pay tax in France fr the first year. Does this mean from Sept 09 to Dec 09?

Three:
As I was hired in the UK to go to a job in France. I have been told that there is 30% tax relief on my earnings. See Article 81C below.

Article 81 C
Créé par LOI n°2008-776 du 4 août 2008 - art. 121
Transféré par Décret n°2009-389 du 7 avril 2009 - art. 1

THIS GOOGLE TRANLATES AS:

Created by ACT No. 2008-776 of August 4, 2008 - Art. 121
Moved by Decree No. 2009-389 of April 7, 2009 - Art. 1
I.-1. Employees and persons listed in 1, 2 and 3 of Article 80 b of b called from abroad for employment in a company established in France for a limited period are not subject to tax due to elements of their remuneration directly related to this situation or an option, and employees and persons other than a foreign company in another state, up to 30% of their compensation.

Many thanks for advise.
