Renting property in Slovakia

Renting property in Slovakia

Postby SINTESI on Sat Aug 13, 2011 10:58 pm

Dear All

I live and pay my income tax in the UK. I have a property in Slovakia which I would like to rent out in the near future.
I read some Slovakian tax legislation and according to the law I do not qualify to be a Slovakian tax resident as I spend less than 183 days per year in the country. I would like to enquire what could be the best way of paying the tax without registering as a self-employed either in Slovakia or in the UK. Unfortunately my current employment contract does not allow me to run my own business. Is there any simplified way of declaring the income either to HMRC or its' equivalent in Slovakia.

I would appreciate your advice and opinion.

Thank you
Simon

Letting property is not a business. Just enter the income , after expenses, on your tax return.
With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA
