Replacement goods in unfurnished property

Replacement goods in unfurnished property

Postby Kitty Kat on Wed Sep 14, 2011 10:15 am

Client has an unfurnished property (but it has some capital items in it, just not enough to be furnished).

They replace a (comparable) dishwasher, is the cost allowable as a repair/replacement?
They install a new washing machine, that isn't allowable is it (as capital)?
How about the costs of fitting the item, does it follow the treatment above?

I find myself almost clueless as to unfurnished properties all of a sudden!

Why do you say "just not enough to be furnished" It does not sound furnished to me. Can you move in,cook full meal, eat at a table, sit on a sofa in the lounge then hang you cloths in a wardrobe and go to bed. ? Regards Peter

I'm sorry, I have just re-read your thread and you clearly say "just not enough to be furnished" and I just missed the "not" Regards Peter
