Hi -
I'm a German and I got employed in London by a consulting firm from Mar 2009 - Jan 2010 which at the time was going through a take-over so I was was that I did not have to come to the office until the take over was completed so I stayed in Germany and did not come back to the UK during that period and I was paid offshore in Jersey. So I wonder was is my status, UK-resident or non-resident?
Its very confusing. Thanks for help.

Please state the nature of the employment, precisely where (i.e. in which country) you worked and between what dates. When did you live in the UK? Do you have wife/partner/children? If so, where did they live while you were living/working in the UK?

Why have you posted this in tax investigations? Is HMRC already looking at your residence status?
