Selling home abroad

Postby mcagun » Thu Nov 17, 2016 12:41 pm

Hi Hope someone can help

I am a UK resident
I will be selling my home abroad, its my only home, I do not own any property in the UK or anywhere else.
I will be buying another property, again abroad, but not for a few month

my question is;
Do I have to inform the Tax man for any reason?

Strictly, it may be necessary to make a return, but as 98.7656% of the people who dispose of their P.P.R. don't include it on the return, I wouldn't bother.
With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA

Whilst living in the UK have you lived in a property you own or rent (under a lease)?

How long have you lived in the UK?

Since living in the UK how long each tax year have you lived in the overseas property?
