Are there any special rules/procedures for valuing a company for the purposes of stamp duty?

Is there a prescibed format of letter that needs to be sent to HMRC?

If you are simply selling shares, the stamp duty is based on what you pay....not sure where a valuation comes in here

If you are giving shares away, you can make a gift releif election
