"The certificate will usually be effective from the date of your application although it may be backdated for up to 13 weeks. It cannot be issued to cover any week that you have already paid a Class 2 contribution."

So it can not be backdated more than 13 weeks from the date of self employed registration.

If this was one of thing, you may ring your local tax office, and see if you could declare as a other income. As you are not carrying on trade any more, they may say, just declare on your self assessment from.
