Stamp duty for adding my partner to my deeds

Postby lmay on Tue Nov 02, 2004 8:40 am

My partner would like invest £70,000 into my property and in return I will add his name to the deeds to the tune of 35%. I have been advised that we will have to pay stamp duty - is this true - and if so, how much? The property is worth £200,000. There is no mortgage on the property.

You will need to pay this on the consideration paid.
