Stamp Duty on Second Home

Postby soveliss85 » Tue Mar 14, 2017 12:43 pm

Hello,

I currently hold the deed for my childhood home in which my family lives abroad. It was a gift from my family. There is no mortgage on it and I receive no income from it. It is not my main residence as well.

In this case, will I need to pay higher stamp duty when I purchase a property in the UK even if this is not my main residence?

Thank you.

Yes, the 3% will apply.
