Taking lower paid jobs - query NI

Postby toyman on Sun Jul 03, 2011 3:32 pm

My husband and I both 56 have decided to give up our really stressful jobs, downsized our house, but would like to get part-time jobs earning about £90 a week each to get by on. I am worried however that we will not be paying NI contributions which may then affect our pensions later on. We have both worked all our life and I am not sure whether we need to still pay these contributions as we may have paid enough for our pension. Not sure how to find out. Hope someone can help us with this.

Register at www.Gateway.gov.uk and they will send you a statement and quote for what your pension will be in the future. Regards Peter
