Tax credits

With regard to the 30 hour plus additional element of working tax credit ( around £660 per year), being self employed there seems to be little information on working out your average hours.

If, for instance, you work considerably less in winter but considerably more in summer would this be averaged out or would it require constantly informing them of changes. I don't seem to be able to find any advice on this.

For instance, what if you choose to take a holiday in this time, is this counted as such or are your hours then counted as nil for that week or so? Can't find anyting in writing on this.

Any advice would be appreciated.
