Tax deductible expense

this may sound silly but can one argue that the purchase of a wrist watch is you are a commercial diver or pilot is a tax deductible expenses?

I would certainly argue the case. (Provided that it is only worn when diving. Most pro diving watches are so big you couldn't wear them socially anyway)
Pilot's watches don't need to be special, so less chance there.
With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA
