Tax forecast

Postby craig2006 on Thu Jan 05, 2006 8:49 am

Hi, I am an IT contractor at the moment, I will be jacking it all in to go and live abroad in July 2006. I remember last year i had to pay tax in june for the forthcoming year as a forecast. Will I have to do this again this year even though i intend to live abroad?

Many thanks
Craig

Your payments on account for 2005/06 payable on 31st January and 31st July 2006 will still apply, assuming your earnings will continue to be at the same level.

Your payments on account for 2006/07 can be reduced accordingly on your 2006 tax return; or seperately using form SA303 available from the Revenue's website (www.hmrc.gov.uk).

You will still need to do a 2007 tax return.
