Tax problem

I am thinking of going self employed but have a dubious past with tax, what would be recommended for my first steps, ie, accountant. Any help I would be very gratefull.

Hi Thanks for your reply Steve, are they likely to did up my past, i have been unemployed for the last 2 years and I was unemployed back in the 90s.
